“A Lot” is a hip hop song by American rapper 21Savage. The song also features the vocals of fellow American rapper and singer J.Cole.
In his verses, Savage mainly talks about the challenges, problems and loss he has had to deal with in his young life. J. Cole, on the other hand, uses his verse to rap about a bunch of things, including the current state of the rap industry. The highlight of Cole’s verse comes when he gives fellow rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine a shoutout and raps about the legal troubles Tekashi is battling. Cole empathizes with Tekashi and asks the listeners to pray for him. According to him, the system wants Tekashi to rot in jail.
FYI: As of the writing of this post, Tekashi 6ix9ine is behind bars awaiting trial on a number of grave offenses, including racketeering. If he is convicted, he might spend the rest of his life in jail.
